Weddings

Preparing for a wedding can be a very stressful time with so many details to attend to.  If you are planning on a 'first dance' as husband and wife and would like to be able to do something other than the 'high school shuffle,' taking a few dance lessons can be fun and make you feel confident on the Big Day.

What I offer is a package of four 1-hour private lessons to learn whatever dance is appropriate for the song of your choice.  (If you have not chosen a song, I have a list of appropriate, danceable songs and would be happy to forward it to you upon request.)  The cost is $160, which is a savings of $40 off my regular price for four lessons.  You would need to provide me with the music if I don't already have it.  In four lessons, I can teach you a simple routine that you will be comfortable with.  Many couples decide to take an extra lesson for more confidence.  I recommend that you start lessons approximately two months prior to the wedding. If you wish to learn a fancier routine, you would need additional lessons (at a cost of $40 per lesson) and you would need to start sooner.

I have worked with other members of wedding families, such as father-daughter, parents of the bride or groom, and wedding parties.  I recommend that music be chosen in advance so that lessons can be geared to a specific type of dance.

"Hi Betty, . . . Our first dance was fabulous!!  It went off without a hitch, and everyone was very impressed with our performance!!  Even more so when they found out we learned it in two weeks!!  . . The first dance was definitely a highlight for us, and we couldn't have done it without you.  Thanks so much for teaching us in such a short amount of time.  We are eternally grateful.  Jason & Kristi"

"Dear Betty, We did it!  And I only stepped on Rob's foot once (I don't think anyone noticed).  We are so happy we did this.  Everyone was cheering and they loved the 'fan.'  Thank you for everything, and once we get professional photos we will send one your way.  Thank you again! - Robert & Nikki"

"We first met Betty when a friend of ours gifted us two free dance lessons leading up to our wedding.  Betty worked with us to put together a swing dance routine for our first dance over the course of four one-hour sessions.  Neither of us had ever taken dance lessons before, but under Betty's guidance we learned the basics of swing and a routine that we really enjoyed and felt comfortable with.  Everyone at the wedding really loved our dance, and for months afterward people were still telling us how impressed they were.  We enjoyed our time with Betty so much that we have continued our lessons with her and have had fun learning new styles like hustle and cha-cha.  Betty is very kind and a wonderful teacher and dancer.  Her passion for dance is apparent in the enthusiasm she brings to every lesson.  We would highly recommend Kitchen Dancing to anyone looking to learn dance for their wedding or just for fun!" - Evan and Alex

"Betty was a great instructor who taught us a lot in a very short period of time.  The atmosphere of her studio and her personality made lessons fun and comfortable.  She is the epitome of a professional dance teacher!"  Andrew and Maddie
